Provides support to the Engineering and Production Departments activities by doing work which requires the application of Engineering knowledge and methods in the areas of equipment problems and preventative maintenance combined with technical skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
1. Involvement in the innovation and design and construction of manufacturing equipment.
2. Involvement in the direction of outside Engineering firms in the design and construction of equipment.
3. Coordinates and provides support in the area of debugging of new equipment and may include validation support.
4. Ensures that all equipment, processes and facilities meet the requirements of designated government regulations such as OSHA, GMP, FDA, EPA, etc.
5. Troubleshoots problems with the manufacturing equipment of a mechanical and electrical nature.
6. Coordinates communication between Division R and D and Plant personnel on new products, product improvements and product problems.
7. Participates in Engineering and Production functions to achieve the overall objectives of the Plant.
8. The Production/Preventive Maintenance Engineer will oversee the maintnenance and up:keep of the plant Preventive maintenance system.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
1. Complies with, and responsible for enforcing, all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies/procedures.
2. Complies with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles. Ensures compliance through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound Quality Assurance principles. Responsible for the activities and programs as defined for this position in the Quality Systems Manual : BDVS Broken Bow.
3. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
4. Observes all safety, environmental, and quality system standards.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Education
A two year associates degree in electrical or other related field is required.
2. Experience
Position requires a minimum of 4 years experience in the Manufacturing Technical Maintenance field. Must possess a broad knowledge of fundamental principals of equipment design and of PLC based control systems. Experience in high speed automated manufacturing a plus.
3. Physical Requirements
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
4. Mental Requirements
Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
5. Equipment Use
Ability to manually operate a computer with a standard keyboard. Ability to manually operate small hand tools in successful completion of tasks.
