NORC at the University of Chicago is currently seeking outgoing, persuasive people to conduct in-person interviews as part of the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS). The MCBS is an in?person, nationally?representative, longitudinal survey of Medicare beneficiaries. The survey captures beneficiary information whether aged or disabled, living in the community or facility, or serviced by managed care or fee-for?service. The MCBS has been continuously fielded for more than 20 years (encompassing over 1 million interviews), and consists of three annual interviews per survey participant. The primary goals of the MCBS are to: provide information on the Medicare beneficiary population that is not available in CMS administrative data and that is uniquely suited to evaluate or report on key outcomes and characteristics, determine expenditures and sources of payment for all services used by Medicare beneficiaries, ascertain all types of health insurance coverage among Medicare beneficiaries and relate this coverage to payment for specific services, and track changes in key beneficiary metrics over time. Interviewers administer a structured, in-person questionnaire with scientifically sampled Medicare beneficiaries. Interviewers will work to schedule and complete three interviews with each participant throughout one calendar year.
